Final exam has ended. This was a difficult semester. But it was a fun semester though. As the forth semester ended, we are going to have KP or kuliah praktek (I can't find the English translation yet) in some other Public Metrology Departments started on June 2012. So we still have two weeks holiday. Some of my classmates went home during the holiday. But some others still stay in Bandung because of any reasons.
Finally, everybody which is in Bandung decided to hike Tangkuban Parahu. A mountain near Bandung City. But, on the day, I got up late. So everybody canceled to hike the mountain. And we went there by public transportation. Some people were disappointed because of me. :)
We departed from ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung) to Ledeng terminal by Caheum-Ledeng public car. A black striped- green car. It costs IDR 2500,-/person.
then, from Ledeng Terminal, we continued our journey by St. Hall- Lembang public car. This is a beige coloured car.
the car is behind us. :D
We had to pay IDR 20000 each to reach the top of the mountain. Also we needed to pay IDR 15000 for the entrance ticket.
Actually, this car just take you to Lembang for IDR 3000. Then from Lembang, you can take another grey car that will take you to the top of the mountain for IDR 10000.
This is a lot cheaper. But we didn't know this. Because it was the first time for us to go to Tangkuban Parahu by public transportation. So when the Stasion-Lembang car driver offered us to go directly to the top. We said "YES" right away.
these are the pictures of Kawah Ratu (Queen crater)
Tangkuban Parahu is very beautiful. I went there before but I just saw the crater and then I got home. I didn't explore the mountain further.
We took a rest here. Since the weather was cold, we ate something spicy to warm ourselves. We ate the original snacks from Bandung, Cireng Pedes (Hot Spicy Fried Starch). When you eat that, be sure you have plenty of water to drink.
Because it will burn your tongue like hell.
With my friends I explore the different sides of tangkuban parahu, we went to Kawah Upas (Poison Crater), I don't know why the crater named Poison. Our way to this crater is amazing, the vegetation is still natural. I was so amazed since it had been a long time I never found something like this.
The side of this crater is infertile and full of rocks. But it is very beautiful since we could see the cloud moving slowly upon us.
We can also go down to the crater. The crater is not as dangerous as Kawah Ratu(eventhough it is named Poison). But you gotta be careful still.
The path is blocked not far behind us because it's a cliff . Two of us got down to the Upas crater to write down our class name with the rocks.
MI (Metrology and Instrumentation) 2010
Then, we continued our journey to Sacred water 500 m away from Upas Crater. We got no photos here. It was just a spring in Tangkuban Parahu. But, native people said that the water has magic so that could cure any diseases.
I washed my face and it felt so great because the water is as cool as ice.
